our story

Seattle AI Society

Wayyy back in 2022, a couple of us were drowning in late-night discussions about AI, and I’m not saying we got sick of each other, but let’s face it, we wanted to find a few other kindred spirits. And we had to give it a name, so… thus began the Seattle AI Society.

Our growth was nothing short of phenomenal. Within a day, 30 individuals had joined, astonishingly expanding to nearly 1000 members by the end of the year—a testament to how many people in our local community are grappling with the implications of AI in their daily lives.

We had a single, audacious but existentially vital goal: to elevate public dialogue and facilitate a harmonious transition to coexistence with AGI.

The weekly meetups quickly evolved into a vibrant ecosystem of ideas and influence, branching into specialized chapters for thinking, hustling, and creating with AI.

Now, as we step into 2024, we are excited to launch our first Cohort Program. We are narrowing our focus to a single audacious but existentially vital goal: to elevate public dialogue and facilitate a harmonious transition to coexistence with AGI.

Whether an aficionado or just curious, join us. We’re not just going to watch history unfold, we’re going to create it together.

The SAIS is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We are self-funded by the executive team and supported through donations from sponsors like you.
